Submission Rules

• All submitted abstracts must include at least one faculty member (preferably from the Faculty of Medicine) as an advisor, whose name should be listed as the last author.

• Abstracts must be submitted in Turkish or English and prepared meticulously in terms of grammar, clarity, and adherence to writing rules. Abstracts with unresolved issues or lacking necessary corrections will not be accepted.

• Abstracts uploaded to the system will first be evaluated by the relevant editor and then reviewed by the Scientific Committee using a double-blind peer review process.

• The acceptance of submitted abstracts will be determined based on the referees’ evaluations. Each abstract will be reviewed by at least two referees.

• Accepted abstracts will be presented at the congress in two formats: oral presentation and poster presentation. The type of presentation (oral) will be determined by the TMSJ(Turkish Medical Student Journal) based on the referees’ recommendations. Authors will be notified via email about the acceptance status and the presentation type (Oral/Poster).

• For original research involving human or animal subjects, ethical approval must be obtained. The ethical approval status, the committee providing the approval, and the date and number of the approval must be specified. The editor may request the ethical approval document when necessary. For studies not requiring ethical approval, the reason for exemption should be explained (e.g., studies using publicly available data).

• The deadline for submitting abstracts is March 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM, and participants are required to pay attention to this time.

•Abstracts must be sent to trakyatubat@gmail.com.

 

Abstract Criteria

1. Submitted abstracts must belong to original studies. Reviews, case reports, and original research are accepted.

2. Abstracts must be submitted in Turkish or English.

3. Abstracts will not undergo further linguistic or grammatical checks and will be published as submitted. Participants are responsible for any errors in language or grammar.

4. Abstracts from participants who have not registered online will not be accepted.

5. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee and accepted based on their academic and scientific contributions. Participants will be notified of the status of their abstracts via email.

6. At the end of the abstract, participants should indicate whether they prefer an oral or poster presentation.

7. Abstracts of studies presented at other congresses, symposiums, etc., may be accepted but will not be eligible for awards. Responsibility for this matter lies with the participant.

8. The abstract text must be written in Times New Roman, 10-point font.

9. Author names and their affiliations must appear centered above the abstract text. Academic titles should not be included in the author names.

10. The name of the presenter must be bold and underlined.

11. Abstracts must not exceed 400 words. Original articles must be structured with four subheadings: “Objective,” “Methods,” “Results,” and “Conclusions.” Reviews and case reports should be written as a single paragraph.

12. Titles should be concise and clear, written in 16-point font and all uppercase letters.

13. Keywords related to the abstract should be written below the abstract text, with no more than five keywords.

14. Abstracts must not include tables, figures, or images.

15. References must be included at the end of the abstract.

16. Abbreviations should not be used in the abstract text.

17. The deadline for submitting abstracts is March 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM, and participants are required to pay attention to this time.

18. Abstracts must be sent to trakyatubat@gmail.com.

19. Responsibility for non-compliance with these criteria lies with the participant(s).

 

Oral Presentation Criteria

1. Oral presentations will be organized in a single session, with a maximum of 10 presentations selected from the applications. Priority will be given to those relevant to the theme.

2. Each oral presentation will be allocated 11 minutes, divided into 8 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for Q&A. Presentations must be completed within this time frame. Time overruns are at the participant’s discretion, which will be considered by the evaluation committee.

3. Presentations can be prepared using PowerPoint or Prezi.

4. Oral presentations must be delivered in Turkish or English.

5. The required technical infrastructure will be provided during the presentation.

6. The deadline for submitting abstracts is March 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM, and participants are required to pay attention to this time.

7. You must submit the final version of your presentation to us no later than March 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

8. It is recommended to bring a backup of your presentation on the day of the event.

9. Participants may not deliver more than one oral presentation during the congress.

10. Oral presentations will be evaluated by the designated judging committee.

11. Responsibility for non-compliance with these criteria lies with the participant(s).

 

Poster Presentation Criteria

1. Posters should be prepared in PowerPoint format, sized 7090 cm (horizontalvertical), or as a JPEG file with a resolution of 19201080 pixels (lengthwidth).

2. Poster text should be legible from a distance of 2 meters and have a minimum font size of 28–32 points.

3. It is recommended that posters have a harmonious color scheme. Participants are responsible for the color and layout of their posters.

4. Poster presentations must be delivered in Turkish or English.

5. Each poster presentation will be allocated 5 minutes, divided into 4 minutes for the presentation and 1 minute for Q&A. Time overruns are at the participant’s discretion, which will be considered by the evaluation committee.

6. References must be included in the bottom-right corner of the poster, with no more than five sources.

7. The presenter’s name and contact information should be written in the bottom-left corner of the poster.

8. The TÜBAT logo should be placed in the top-left corner, and the presenter’s university logo in the top-right corner of the poster.

9. Participants may not deliver more than one poster presentation during the congress.

10. Poster titles should be concise and clear.

11. There are no thematic restrictions for posters; participants may present studies on any topic.

12. The deadline for submitting abstracts is March 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM, and participants are required to pay attention to this time.

13. You must submit the final version of your presentation to us no later than March 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

14. Responsibility for non-compliance with these criteria lies with the participant(s).

 

Original Research

• Abstracts for studies conducted using quantitative research methods must contain a minimum of 350 and a maximum of 500 words (excluding references).

• Abstracts must not include images, tables, or graphs (these may be included in the poster/oral presentation).

• Authors should be listed in the system in the same order as in the abstract.

• Abstracts must include the following sections and meet the specified criteria:

• Title: Written in lowercase letters except for the first letter, reflecting the content and methodology of the study, and not exceeding 100 characters with spaces.

• Introduction and Objective: Briefly introduce the research topic, clearly state its importance and objective.

• Materials and Methods: Include the type, location, and time of the research, population, sample size, sampling method, ethical approval status, supporting organizations, funding, data collection method, variables, and statistical tests used for analysis.

• Results: Present the study’s findings clearly and concisely.

• Conclusion: Highlight significant results, contributions to existing knowledge, implications, and recommendations.

• Keywords: Minimum of 3, maximum of 5.

 

Case Report

• Abstracts for case reports must contain a minimum of 250 and a maximum of 400 words (excluding references).

• Case report abstracts must include a Turkish or English title and keywords (minimum 3, maximum 5).

 

Review

• Review abstracts must include a Turkish or English title, an abstract containing 250–500 words, and keywords (minimum 3, maximum 5).
